Animals and story have provided Marjan with a rich source of inspiration to explore creatively, whether on paper, in clay, bronze or steel. She loves the adventure of the making process, allowing each material it's own voice.
Marjan has her work spread across the globe, represented in public and private collections. She has exhibited in Amsterdam, London, Bonn, New Zealand and Washington DC, and created sculptures for public spaces in London, Newcastle, Greater Manchester and across Lancashire. She loves to work in a wide range of scales, processes and media, although her first love was always (and continues to be) clay, and drawing the first step on any new road or idea.
Sir Kyffin Williams (1918-2006), RA, has said “Here is someone whose work is indeed true sculpture. The almost surreal twist to her work immediately makes it thought provoking. Some of her work has a tenderness that is most moving, an emotion that is usually lacking in modern sculpture"
Marjan is generously donating 10% of all sales to The Friends of York Art Gallery
